Looking for Ways to Make Extra Money?

Monday November 10, 2008

There may be a time when you need a little extra money to make ends meet, to get out of debt or to cover Christmas presents. When this happens you do have various choices. You could get a part time job, sell some stuff or being working as freelancer. These options can bring in the extra money that you need. If it is a short term problem, and you need a quick solution, holding a yard sale might be enough to take care of the problem. Alternately you may choose to use eBay or another auction site to reach a wider audience

If you need to take on a part time job, consider your options carefully. You want to make the time you sacrifice working, worth the effort. You can do better than a minimum wage job. A pizza delivery person or a server makes a lot more than minimum wage if they are working at a busy restaurant. Think about your marketable skills and see if you can come up with a way to make money with those skills. For example the average tutoring hourly wage is $20.00 in my area, and it goes up for speciality subjects.

You may also consider picking up freelance work in your field or another one that you are qualified for. Freelance work may not be as stable as a permanent part-time job, but it allows for more flexiblity. Additionally you can set your prices and determine how much you are willing to work for. This could be temporary or you may choose to make it a more permanent career choice.
