Lately, it seems that credit card offers are everywhere that I turn. Each day in the mail, I get several offers for me and my husband, and any time I shop at the store they offer me an additional ten percent off, if I will just sign up for a store credit card. I have friends that feel that they benefit from the cash back rewards they get from using their credit cards each month. But I have talked to more people that struggled because they have fallen into the credit card trap.
There are times when you may need a credit card to rent a car or something similar, but the times are few and far between. It may be worth keeping one credit card for these occasions. Otherwise, you should try to do without a credit card completely. It can help you to stay on budget if you do not have something else to fall back on when you run out of money.
