She was carefully choosing which items to take out. Several people jumped in and offered to cover the difference, but she did not want to accept any help. It is a terrifying feeling to realize you do not have enough money, whether it is to buy groceries for the week or to cover your bills for the month.
If you find yourself in a situation, where you are struggling to just get by, there are things you can do to make it through. You need to think about the bigger picture as well as the short-term problem. While you can find a part-time job to help ends meet now, you need to figure out a plan that will raise your income and set up an emergency fund so that will not happen again. Take the steps now, so you do not have the panicky feeling when your bills are due.
