It's a brand new month. I love the first of the month. It's the one day of the month that I feel rich. It's a great feeling to have your paycheck sitting in the bank before you start paying all the bills. It is one nice aspect of being paid monthly instead of every other week. It's a lot easier to put together a true monthly budget, when the majority of the money comes in at once.

February is a great month for your budget. It is a few days shorter than the rest of the year, so it is easier to stretch your food budget. It is also when a lot of people decide to stop trying to stick to their budget. However, you can make adjustments to the categories in February and really iron out a budget that will help you meet your financial goals. Budgeting isn't a one time process where you sit down and just write out how much to spend in each category. For a budget to truly work, you need to take time each month to adjust it and tweak it. If you are married this means a monthly budget meeting. Take advatnage of the new month to strat fresh and really tackle your budget head on this year.
