When you are in a crisis, you are rushing to take care of the problem and fix it as quickly as possible. There are different types of emergencies: natural disasters, medical emergencies, car emergencies, accidents and money issues. Unfortunately, most emergencies are going to hit your pocketbook in one form or another, you may be worried about how much the emergency is going to cost while trying to get it taken care of. When you are sick or hurt, these may be the last things you want to be thinking about.

Preparing for emergencies should be done with several different strategies. You should have a basic plan in place, with contact information for nearby friends and family that can help you out in a pinch. You should purchase the right insurance to protect yourself, your car, your home and your family. You should also set aside some money so that you can cover any emergencies as they come up. Your health insurance deductible or or $1,000 to $2,000 should cover most emergency situations that may come up.
