Readers Respond: Is It Okay to Accept Financial Help from Your Parents?

Many recent graduates and other young professionals receive additional money from their parents even after they have found their first real job. Other people only accept the help when they have a financial emergency such as a car repair. Do you feel that it is okay to receive regular financial help (monthly stipend) or the occasionally helping hand from your parents? Why or why not? Share Your Opinion

Dreams vs Reality

It's nice to believe that once I graduate and get a job I'll become completely independent. But it's obvious that this might not be the case and probably will not be. It's irresponsible and naive to reject the idea of financial help from your parents beforehand. And once you do need such help you may not even have a choice and will have to ask your parents for help. To put it simply, you never know.
